Level 2: Joining a Guild

Guild Membership Shards are purchased in Pixels own game token $PIXEL. $PIXEL is a currency on the Ronin blockchain that is used across the Pixels ecosystem to buy VIP memberships, Pets NFTs, In-game coins, Guild Membership Shards and with more utility to come.

To purchase the $PIXEL token you can do so on a centralized exchange such as Binance. Alternatively, if you already have tokens in a Ronin wallet, you can use Katana to swap RON, USDC, WETH, AXS etc. into $PIXEL.

So you’ve researched all the Guilds and you’ve got your $PIXEL at the ready, let's jump in and join a Guild! Head to the Pixels dashboard. You can also access this link from this purple button in game.

Go to the Guilds tab and find the name of the guild you want to join. Click on it to bring up details about that guild. Click on the green “Purchase Guild Shard” button when you’re ready. It will have a Buy price when you can purchase Shards for, and a Sell price if you already have a Shard and want to sell.

Confirm the transaction in your Ronin wallet to complete your purchase. Congratulations, you are now a member of this Guild!

To sell a membership shard you can click the sell button and sign the transaction. There is a 5% selling fee on the sale. Half of this goes into the Pixels Treasury. The other half of the fee will go to the Guild's Treasury. When you sell, the $PIXEL will be rewarded to you via the in-game mailbox.

You also might have noticed that the prices of the memberships can vary a lot. This is because sales are based on a Bonding Curve. This means that shards are dynamically priced based on the number of members or shards sold. The more members a guild has, the more a new membership shard will cost.

This creates competition between guilds, but also balances the size of guilds which creates a fair playfield for guild leaders and members.

To complete this level, get the magnifying glass from Luke in game and find the pixel item. Be sure to watch the video for a clue!
