Level 1: Gem Store Guide

Gems are a new in-game off-chain currency that you can use to buy Starter Axies, Crafting Materials, AXP Boosters, Cosmetics and other in-game items. Head in-game to check out the Origins Shop and see what you can buy.

Noir, Rouge, Venoki, Momo, and Pomodoro are each available for 1000 gems. Along with each Axie, you will get 1000 Honor Medals and 5 of that Axie’s Class Badges to help you evolve their parts. Spam suggests that Venoki, Noir and Rouge are competitive starter Axies that you may want to try out.

Here you can buy bundles of Moonshards, Ancient Moonstones, and Moon Dust. These are materials needed to craft Runes and Charms. Using Ancient Moonstones in your crafting will give you an increased chance of getting a Rune. And Using Moon Dust increases the chance of getting Epic items.

Next we have the cosmetics. These are gacha cosmetic balls that contain Avatars, borders and Static and Animated Stickers. To open your purchase Gacha Ball head to your inventory and locate the item. Then click on open. Let’s take a look at what you can collect!

In the middle of each Era the Runes and Charms tab will become available allowing you to purchase these items. These are mystery boxes so you won’t know which Rune or Charm you will receive until you open it.

In this tab you can buy AXP Boosters, Honor Medals and Class Badge boxes.

Honor Badges and Class Badge boxes are materials needed to upgrade and evolve your Starter Axies. If you want a full video explaining the ins and outs of evolving Starter Axies check out Kookoo’s Getting Started Superquest.

AXP Boosters come in three different types: 30 Days, 7 Days, and 8 Hours. They each boost your AXP rewards from arena matches by 40%.

As well as buying items in the Origins Shop you can also use Gems in Crafting. At crafting levels 2, 25 and 45 you will unlock new crafting recipes. In each of these recipes you can spend Gems to craft Rare, Epic, and Mystic Runes and Charms with an increased weighting in different classes. The 9 classes are grouped into groups of three. (Aquatic Bug and Dusk), (Beast Bird and Dawn), and (Plant Reptile and Mech).

To buy Gems you can click the + icon in the top right of the Origins Shop or head to the Axie Gem Store. For your first purchase you can buy a welcome bundle of 200 gems for just 0.99 USDC which is the best deal in the Store. As with the items in the Origins Shop, the bigger the bundle, the better bang for your buck. So if you think you’ll be using a lot of Gems it's better to buy a bigger bundle to begin with than multiple small ones.
